Wow! So much good truth in this teaching. Obedience and faith are inseparable! When we walk in intentional disobedience we are choosing whom we will serve.
Iâve often heard it said, âPartial obedience is disobedience.â As servants/slaves, we do not get to pick and choose which commands of Christ we want to follow. If he is Lord we will obey ALL that he commands. We cannot live with one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom. Followers of Christ are either all in, or out; there is no grey area.
I lived many years straddling the fence so to speak. I knew the many truths of scripture but was suppressing the truth in my flesh; justifying continued sin because âwe are all sinners saved by graceâ right? Thanks be to God he opened my eyes, because no amount of serving in the church and knowing the truth and saying all the right things could save me. I realize now that I was still a slave to sin. I loved my sin more than I loved God and as much as I desired to live a life pleasing to God, I desired more to live a life that pleased my flesh.
For anyone still professing Christ but living like the world, I encourage you to read Hebrews 10:26-27.
Upon coming to this revelation I repented before God, buried the old life in the waters of baptism and received the Holy Spirit like Peter instructed in Acts 2:38. I am no longer a slave to sin and have experienced the freedom that comes in living in total surrender to Christ! All praise and glory be unto Him who sits on the throne!
Looking forward to continuing in this study with everyone and praying that God will transform lives and renew the minds of all who hear the truth of His word proclaimed.
