Wisdom from J.I. Packer
This is J. I. Packer (1926-2020). I was saddened to hear of his death this last year, although 93 is a pretty good old age. I'm sure he was ready to see Jesus face to face! He was a faithful minister of the gospel, a deeply influential theologian and a prolific author. If you've been around OSC for a while, you've most likely been recommended his book Knowing God. I have been encouraged by his writing ministry in many ways.

I'd like to share with you an article he wrote back in 1985. As we think "Christianly", it's good to take some time to listen to wise voices of the past, especially those who are removed from whatever present situations befall us. Policies, the election, and good citizenship are in the news and on our minds these days. I recommend you take 15 to 30 minutes of your time to hear the wisdom of this British man who served Christ with faithful integrity to the very end.
